INTRODUCTION The general nutritional interrelationships between calcium and phosphorus have been well recognized. Calcium and phosphorus deposit in the organic matrix in the form of crystal hydroxyapatite during the mineralization process and give the bone strength (Berner and Shike, 1988). The deficiencies in content or improper ratio of these two minerals usually hinder bone growth and lead to greater incidences of leg abnormalities (Xie et al., 2009).
