I can't put your rain in quotes
I can't keep you up over the phone
So I can't be the one to tuck you in
I can't be the one to pull you out of bed
I'm not important like you play it to be
If we were official, this would be an actual story
Stripped right out of pages one through three
You've got the cover of us on your sheets
But you don't act like it's worth the risk

All your friends introduce you
But not the way I introduce you
I talk about you like you're here
My biggest manifestation, off self-manipulation
I believe all my shortcomings
Like I believe in this fable
I know you're constantly being told
You're beautiful
If only I could put a body to my fantasies
