James Hunt was a towering personality with a commanding presence, a hugely glamorous public figure who brought Formula One motor racing to the attention of a whole new audience.
Triumphing against all odds to become World Drivers' Champion with McLaren in 1976, Hunt sank into a period of decadence and depression, only to be rejuvenated as he found true love for the first time.
With that came personal contentment and a renewed zest for living, so that one of the most colourful and controversial figures in Grand Prix racing is best remembered by those close to him as a fun-loving, caring man who had a genuinely uplifting presence - qualities that shine through in Gerald Donaldson's compelling and moving account of his life.

What an Man James Hunt was!
This book is incredible: read it and you get a beautiful story.
Read it between the lines and you get the sense of life.
Knowing more about Mr.Hunt from his words, from his family, from his friends, from who competed with him is really a surprise.
A good one.
Seems to "read" a movie where all is so simple but also so deep and direct.
The title could have been "From life to hell and return".
I didn't know how difficult has been for this Man to live before, during and after his racing career.
Maybe is just a personal view but I consider James Hunt as one of the most intelligent minds ever lived on earth.
Because is when you are capable (and how) of coming out from difficulties and odds that makes the difference between existing and living.
A Man from whom learn many good views also for our life benefit.
A story that I would personally reccomend.
RIP James, you are still an incredible inspirator and someone I would have met personally.
