Maxwell Harris is restless. Working as a pastry chef for over a decade has been amazing, but he wants more than that, he wants to find his someone special. On his way to visit family back in England for the holidays, a once in a lifetime snowstorm has Max finding just that in the form of the beautiful innkeeper who offers him shelter.

Lucy Shaw has had a rough year. After her mother's passing, she's all alone and dreading the holiday season more than anything, but with an annual gingerbread event at her inn looming, she needs to get back into the Christmas spirit, and fast. Luckily for her, a handsome pastry chef is trapped at the inn with her, and Max offers her much more than a little help with a biscuit recipe.

As the two shelter from the storm, they share the aches from their pasts and their hopes for the future, but once the skies clear, will what they feel for each other clear up as well?
