Times in UT indicate the limits during which the NLC was seen, not necessarily the duration of the display. The Forms are denoted in the list as follows : A: Type I, 'veil', usually a faint background to other forms. However, in high latitudes the twilight arch may be mistaken for Type I on its own and often leads to a spurious sighting.
