Throughout his life Abbott searched for a more personal way to present the story of Christianity to non-believers. This novel is his answer. Both a work of Christian apologetics and history, this dramatic novel is written from the point of view of an early Christian. Born in first-century Galilee, Philochristus meets Jesus as a young man. He witnesses many of the pivotal events of Jesus’ life and winds up in Britain in the year 80, where he writes his memoirs of his time with the Lord. Abbott would write two more novels about early Christian believers, “Onesimus” and “Silanus the Christian.”
