Most of us barely remember how we learned to read. We were very little and the process, understandably, was gradual. As a teacher, reading specialist and consultant to what at this point amounts to literally hundreds, maybe thousands, of students, teachers, parents and volunteer tutors, I am always amazed at how much can be accomplished when somebody cares.
