It was deliberate.
The car had slammed sideways into my motorbike on a perfectly straight, almost deserted, bit of motorway, on a clear dry summer's evening. After the brief impact, it had eased back into the outside lane and sped away.
I had been happily riding along on a warm evening. Then, in an instant, I am sliding along the tarmac at some sixty miles an hour. I can hear my bike tumbling somewhere ahead of me on the road.
I slither to a halt; I am aware of my knees and elbows being painful as I hobble to the hard shoulder. I'm living proof that it isn't the falling off that kills you but colliding with the scenery is likely to.

This is a page turner of the highest order. I couldn't out it down. Real characters … even a little bit of sex appeal. A Paying Customer.
