This is my story of going from 20-foot dinghy sailing to a 44.5 foot Beneteau yacht named ‘Ocean Gem’ in 2011. I spent the next 2 years planning and preparing to sail her across the Tasman Sea from Auckland, New Zealand, via Norfolk Island to the Gold Coast in Australia where I live today.
