Cooper Clark never liked me.

From the time we were kids, we bickered and fought. We argued. We battled it out on the playground and later, when we were teenagers, in the schoolyard. I kicked his ass more times than I cared to count, but then something happened.

I realized that I was totally, completely, madly in love with him the same week he started dating my best friend.

After graduation, I left, and I didn't look back. I didn't keep in touch with anyone. I didn't stay connected to my old classmates. I didn't do any of that.

Then my aunt gets sick, and I have the chance to move back to town and take over her bakery, which has always been an integral part of Ashton. It's a no-brainer for me. I promised her I'd return and take over the shop one day, and there's no time like the present, right?

My first day on the job, things are looking up. Then Cooper Clark walks through those doors, and I realize that some things never change.
