Mack took a sip of water and nodded. He’d done the polite thing, and his patience wasn’t what it used to be, so …

“Why are you here, Andy?”

Andy shook his head. “Same old Mack … no time for bullshit.”

The CIA officer pulled his mobile phone from his pocket. He entered his passcode to unlock the screen, pulled up a photo, and slid the phone across the counter. The photo made Mack’s heart skip a beat.

“What are you showing me, Andy?”

“That’s Lindsey,” Andy said, holding Mack’s gaze.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Now he felt anger blossom in his chest. What the hell kind of sick shit was that to say? “My daughter’s dead.”

Seventy-year-old retired special operator Mack has been mourning the loss of his daughter for five years. But when his old CIA compatriot arrives and tells him Lindsay is alive and being held captive, he immediately puts together a team of his old buddies in order to rescue her.
