South Wind is a novel by British writer Norman Douglas, first published in 1917. The novel is set on the fictional island of Nepenthe, located in the Mediterranean Sea, and follows the lives of the island's eccentric residents and visitors.

Norman Douglas (1868-1952) was a British writer and traveler, best known for his novel "South Wind" and his travelogue "Old Calabria". Born in Austria to a Scottish mother and an Austrian father, Douglas spent much of his life traveling and living abroad.
