Spanish Dancer & Her Clothes

Spanish Dancer and Her Clothes came about because I grew up in a ballet company, dancing ballets, including Spanish ballets like Paquita. This ballet is based upon a Spanish gypsy character. We also danced Spanish folk dances like the Jota from Northern Spain, and Flamenco. This style include castanuelas and tappas, castanets and heel beats. So when I began designing dance dolls, a Spanish Dancer was one of the obvious choices. A number of her outfits are based on dance practice and performance clothes and clothing to attend a dance gala party. I have included this doll and one Moorish dance costume in a series of chapbooks, but this book has many more outfits for her.
