In a turn-of-the century England steeped in steampunk and magic, Christine learns it's her paranormal visions causing her life-threatening illness. Allie, her sister and the family heir, seeks a noble match while she searches the occult underground for answers.
But the only witch who can help will not do so unless Allie marries her beau, a poor aristocrat, so that the illicit pair can share Allie's wealth.
If Christine doesn't make the visions end, her illness will eventually take her life. But to do what Lady Kinloss wants is to betray Allie to a lifetime of misery with a man who does not love her.
Can Christine bring herself to lead her sister into a bad marriage if doing so is the only way to save her own skin?
