This book showcases over 200 photographs by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Photo Dept. illustrating key moments and scenes from the 2014 St. Louis Cardinals' season.

Hope springs eternal in the Spring Training chapter as the Cardinals mixed levity and hard work to prepare for the season.

The Ballpark Village entertainment complex adjacent to Busch Stadium opened to the public in time for Opening Day.  Explore a 360° panorama of Ballpark Village and visit the Cardinals Hall of Fame with the hall of famers.

The regular season saw the Cardinals trailing the Milwaukee Brewers in the standings through much of the season but as has become their custom, they found another gear as the calendar turned toward fall.  The Cardinals qualified for the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year and their 11th trip to the postseason since 2000.

In honor of former Cardinals manager Tony La Russa’s induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, this book also features a special collection of images of La Russa during his time as Cardinals manager.

The Cardinals advanced to the National League Championship Series for the fourth straight year.  Relive their postseason run with chapters on the NLDS vs the Los Angeles Dodgers and the NLCS vs the San Francisco Giants.

Two weeks after the end of the Cardinals’ 2014 season, tragedy struck.  Cardinals rookie outfielder Oscar Taveras was killed in a car accident near his hometown of Sosua, Dominican Republic.  Thousands turned out for a funeral procession through the streets of his hometown to say goodbye to the first player from Sosua to make it to the major leagues.  Taveras was 22.

The following St. Louis Post-Dispatch staff photographers contributed to this book: David Carson, Robert Cohen, J.B. Forbes, Chris Lee, Huy Mach and Laurie Skrivan. It was edited by Lynden Steele.

If you enjoyed this book, please also look for last year’s book, The 2013 St. Louis Cardinals in Pictures. It features photos from the regular season, the NLDS against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers and the World Series against the Boston Red Sox.
