The Little Ship

A little ship lies weary at the lake’s port. It spends its winter sleep dreaming. Dreaming of all the people it has bravely ferried in the summer, of the storms it has survived and of the happy parties people have celebrated on board. The little ship is already looking forward to spring: to the start of the new season, well-rested and all decked out for the admiring glances of its passengers. In magical texts and poetical images, “The Little Ship” tells the story of a life between the elements. The author: Barbara Schmuker originally comes from Biberach in the South of Germany and now lives in Karlsruhe and Überlingen. She likes spending her spare time at Lake Constance where the story originated on a chilly day in autumn.
 
The illustrator: Kristin Lohmann lives in Munich where she works as an illustrator, author and interpreter. She writes and illustrates children’s books, creates murals for shops and likes to discover surprising things.
