Pilate was no fowl cock thief. Neither was I. We were average young men growing up in Parish Land where the marish and the parish lived and died. King Pilate knew more about animals than an/other young man of his age. He especially loved horse racing. He was an aficionado of the sport. Day or night the village would get the calling of a race, real or imagined. "Ladies and gentle, this is King Pilate reporting on the races from the Gar'son Savannah. This is race number one of the Belmont sweepstakes. The bet is on Mentone to win this race for the three-year olds. Mentone is from the Edwards' stable and herjockey is Chally. The other horses are- Miss Sally Ann, ridden by Richard& Silver Grey, ridden by Dreyfuss, Gelbart, ridden by Boy Blue.
