Patient and wise, Tolas will require both traits when he arrives on Earth. Rahab's minions capture him almost instantly, locking him in a cell that he can't escape from. He figures out that Fate has orchestrated this and that she has a challenge for him. Apparently, he has a mate who is waiting to be rescued. How he's going to accomplish that while he's incarcerated is a mystery.

Wynter McBaird isn't exactly a law-abiding citizen, which was why she was left behind after the Rapture. Still, slowly starving to death in a holding cell seemed like an extreme punishment. She's on the verge of death when a man with red eyes finds her. He takes her to a luxurious building that becomes her new prison.
