Under the Lights

Angela Bilton has a plan to find her best friend a girlfriend by Christmas. Elliott Sinclair has a plan, too: survive it without telling her she’s the only woman he wants.
Angela loves Christmas. Elliott? He can take it or leave it. Which makes absolutely no sense to her. No tree. No stocking. No ridiculous Christmas-morning breakfast. Half the time he’s working anyway, and apparently he’s perfectly content with that. Angela is not. If Elliott won’t put some effort into traditions, maybe he needs someone to celebrate with.

Elliott could tell Angela exactly why none of the women he's dated ever stick, but that would require admitting he’s wanted her for forever. She’s his friend. One of his favorite people, even. Confessing feelings she's never returned is a spectacularly stupid way to wreck their friendship. So, yeah, if she wants to set him up, he’ll let her try.

Permission granted. Angela gets to work. They’re already spending half their lives together planning a Denver Stallions holiday gala, and now she’s taking him on a practice date, too. Which might have been manageable if one of those dates hadn’t ended with a very real kiss—and if Elliott weren’t proving he knows quite a bit more about romance than she gave him credit for.

Angela promised to find him someone to spend Christmas with. Someone who appreciates him. Someone who wants to wake up beside him.

She’s beginning to suspect she may have overcomplicated the whole damn thing.
