Introduction A systematic study of toothbrushes revealed that toothbrushes from patients with oral disease and those with healthy mouths had a substantial number of different microorganisms. (1,2) Many of these microorganisms have the potential to produce disease and some can survive on a moist toothbrush for seven or more days. (3,4)
