An excerpt story from FBI: Special Branch

While examining a perfectly preserved wooly mammoth, scientists at the Raven-Miller Research Institute discover the existence of prehistoric insect chrysalises.  When the first cocoon surprisingly hatches and the large moth reveals itself, they aren't prepared for the consequences of the predatory insect.  Primarily focused on studying the creature to determine how such a complex animal could survive a long-term hibernation, they fail to contain the moth and its parasitic larvae.

Agents Braden and Caretta are called into action when two of the victims fail to respond to another employee at the facility (Caretta's sister, Clair Boyd).  With the help of Dr. Amanda Witherspoon, the Special Branch medical analyst, they discover one of the parasites and try to put an end to the experiment before it reaches an epidemic level.
