The Boxes & Dashes variation uses two related slip stitch color patterns on the leg. The Vertical Stripes variation uses one. One pattern can be used alone for the entire length. Just remember to work a decrease round before beginning the pattern and an increase round after to accommodate the difference in gauge between the pattern stitches and Stockinette Stitch.The Vertical Stripes variation, looks handsome in two solid colors, but using a self striping yarn for the contrast color really adds pizzazz.
