A Day at UK

The goal was simple…

…. To zoom in on one day and take a snapshot in time. Students, faculty and staff were asked to journal on October 15th, 2015. The entries are compiled for you here, they are are subdivided into categories describing daily routine, thoughts and feelings, as well as what you should know about UK in this age.

     But why?

Days pass… then weeks and months and years. From one day to the next, life feels pretty much the same. But then there is that one day where you step back and life seems so different than before. 

Ultimately, this project will preserve a day in history. Students today will get to take an anonymous peek into their neighbors’ life. This will foster a sense of empathy within the student body because the namelessness will allow each reader to see another person’s story as a tangible extension of their own. Furthermore, this document will be a piece of written history for Kentuckians to enjoy indefinitely.
