A Penny In Time

When Yared's left at his nanna's for a week he feels like running away. He wants to be in his own room, with his football cards and his batman doona, not in the spare room at his nanna's with its blue flowery bedspread and the bookshelf full of old-fashioned girls' adventure stories. He wants his own parents,
not his brisk, stern nanna.

But then Yared stumbles upon a box of old coins in his nanna's bedroom and things begin to change. Worlds open up before him and lives are linked across the decades as Yared discovers truths he
never knew about history, love and belonging.

Anna Bartlett was born in Mount Isa and has lived most of her life in Brisbane. One of her earliest books, called 'The Adventuer', which she wrote and illustrated herself, was awarded an 'excellent' sticker by her Year 2 teacher. Anna went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Production at the Queensland University of Technology.

When she's not writing stories, Anna enjoys reading, sport, bushwalking and playing the piano. A Penny in Time is her first novel. She hopes her cousins Bereket and Telile – and lots of other people too – will enjoy it!
