Seventeen-year-old Gur takes his headstrong fourteen-year-old sister Krista on a sunset hike through Israel's Golan Heights, hoping to mend eight months of tension before he leaves for Paratrooper training. When a fall on the frost-slicked trail draws blood — and old fears to the surface — the two siblings finally say what has long gone unspoken. A giant teddy bear and a braid of violin bow hair complete the exchange. A Sister's Gift is a quiet, tender story about sibling love, the dread of separation, and the small gestures that hold people together.
Author's Notes: This is a short piece (Set in 2013) intended to introduce Krista's bond with Gur, and their background, and to serve as a small prequel for the coming novel Goddess v2.0. Also, Gur and Krista are the children of Wolff and Polanski, featured in To Fall for an Angel and One Army; Many Tribes.
