A World Without Darcy

A Novella: After rescuing Lydia, Darcy does not return to Hertfordshire but remains in London, mired in self-pity. He blames himself for Wickham’s deception, and cannot bear to face another rejection from Elizabeth Bennet. Having lost the only woman he has ever loved, he cannot bring himself to confess his interference to Bingley lest he lose his friend as well. Mired in guilt Darcy takes a nighttime walk in the city and comes to the conclusion that his loved ones would be better off without him around. Fate steps in and offers him a chance to see just what that would entail, and it is not the world he would have envisioned for any of them.
