Across The Divide

South Africa is a country where the dichotomy is divided between black and white, rich and poor. Where the rich are usually white and the poor usually black.
This is a story about how, a white woman from a wealthy privileged background and a black woman from rural background, become friends. And through circumstances, which bring them closer together, and where colour has no place, they and their children form a bond which is unbreakable.
Phumlas battle with Aids, after being raped, and the subsequent rape of her only child, give Mary-Ann an insight of the hardships of African women. They both cross the divide.
