Always Been Mine

All my life I’d taken the safe route and done what was expected. I married my college sweetheart, found a great job, had two beautiful children and settled in to my little piece of comfort.


The only thing that seemed out of place was my best friend Matt; he was as funny, crazy and impulsive as I was dependable and predictable. Matt’s life was loud and full of chaos, his past as dark as his tattoos. I knew he had secrets, but all that mattered to me was that he had my back when I needed him the most. 

 

When my marriage fell apart, Matt swooped in to help pick up the pieces. Like he always did. At least, that’s what he planned to do. 


I have other plans. I’m done playing it safe, done caring what other people think. I want wild and crazy; and as much as I’ve tried to ignore it, I want Matt. 


I adore him, trust him above all. I’m just not sure I should risk everything, including our friendship, to take a chance on love with the bad boy that could destroy my heart.
