Angela Conner

Angela Conner creates large scale kinetic sculptures, and this interactive book — the first of its kind on her work — shows a number of these works, alongside a collection of smaller sculptures and maquettes. 


Many of the sculptures are powered by water or wind, and this can be seen in a number of videos showing the works in motion. Additional footage shows the installation of ‘Wave’, a 39m (129ft) high free-standing installation in Dublin. Further behind-the-scenes insight is provided through a concept film and construction images of a new work, ‘Renaissance’. 


Contributory texts by art critics Rachel Campbell-Johnston and Edward Lucie-Smith offer further appraisals of Conner’s practice. A comprehensive Index provides listings of all of the featured works including their locations, as many are installed in public spaces.
