The Axis on the Air, first published in 1943, is a fascinating look at the use of radio for propaganda purposes by the Nazis, Japanese, and Italians during World War II. Author Harold Ettlinger, a columnist for the Chicago Sun, provides insight and numerous examples of Nazi Propaganda Minister Goebbels, famous traitors such as "Lord Haw Haw," Jane Anderson, and Ezra Pound, and Axis broadcasts to its own citizens as well as efforts to create unrest and lower morale in England and the United States.
