The book Bazin: who is he? is all about Andre Bazin as a theorist and his contribution to Film Studies. Here, in this book, the subject's objectivity has also been presented that too in the layman's approach. André Bazin (French: [baz?~]; 18 April 1918 - 11 November 1958) was an eminent and persuasive French film faultfinder and film scholar.
Bazin began to expound on film in 1943 and was a prime supporter of the famous film magazine Cahiers du cinéma in 1951, alongside Jacques Doniol-Valcroze and Joseph-Marie Lo Duca.
Bazin's call for target reality, profound center, and absence of montage are connected to his conviction that the understanding of a film or scene ought to be left to the onlooker. This put him contrary to film hypothesis of the 1920s and 1930s, which underscored how the silver screen could control reality.

He is also the co-fonder of Cahiers du Cinema which is indeed the pathbreaking journal till date.
