Avery, the eldest, is a recovering heroin addict turned lawyer in London. Bonnie’s in LA, a former world-class boxer turned bouncer after a shattering defeat. Lucky, the youngest, is an international model self-destructing with alcohol and drugs. A year after Nicole’s death, they meet in New York City to go through her belongings and try to prevent the sale of their family apartment. All their old resentments and family problems return with them, this time without Nicole’s stabilising influence. Author Coco Mellors sketches the sisters with aching beauty and authenticity, skilfully illustrating the loving complexity of family ties through good times and bad.
