Self-esteem is a combination of how you feel about yourself and how you believe others view you. Your level of self-confidence will affect your ability to handle stress and pressure, approach new tasks, and generally enjoy life more fully. Self-esteem is an incredibly important factor when building confidence as low levels of self-esteem can often lead to anxiety or depression which are counterproductive to building confidence.

Confidence also comes from within - everyone has the ability to build their own level of confidence without relying on people around them for their confidence. We build our confidence levels by all of the beliefs we have in ourselves and the way that we react to different circumstances, so if you believe you are a good person then others will see you as being someone with who they can build their trust with too. 

By building your self-esteem, it means that you're more able to build up your own level of confidence and be more confident when dealing with people around you.

  Building Confidence: Self Esteem

Self-esteem is very important when trying to build your confidence. Even the most optimistic people take knocks in life but it is how quickly they bounce back from these knocks which is down to their level of self-confidence.  It also helps us build lower levels of anxiety and depression which is a plus point for everyone.

The best way to build your self-esteem is to practice your confidence skills on a daily basis. To build up your level of self-esteem, you need to believe that you have a right to respect and feel good about yourself but this does not always mean that others will agree with you - which can cause problems in the future when trying to build your own confidence levels. The greatest person ever lived never thought he was great and neither did General Eisenhower during WWII think he had what it takes to win the battle against Hitler's army, but they both went on to build their confidence by thinking positively about themselves and their ability despite negative comments from people around them.
