Call Me Noor

Call Me Noor follows Noor Safiya Rahman, a Kenyan transgender Muslim woman who understands her true identity from childhood but faces rejection from her family and religious community.

After leaving Kenya, Noor moves to Melbourne, where she transitions, finds friendship, love and a sense of belonging. Her relationships with Maya and later Asha bring both joy and profound loss. Eventually, Noor returns home and confronts the family and past she left behind.

Through grief, forgiveness and resilience, she learns that home is not simply a place—it is the freedom to live openly as herself. She later helps establish the Maya Reed Open Door Centre, creating a safe space for others who have also been rejected.
