The long overdue collection of short stories and musings by award-winning author and poet Patricia Taylor Wells.

Wells thinks of her stories as vignettes of her life experience. Most of her stories are autobiographical, and those that aren't are mainly based on the actual life experiences of people she's known—tales of travel, romance, suspense, heartbreak, traditions, WWII history, and young adult/college ventures. Nothing in her range of experience is ever wasted, and she strives to create an unforgettable ending that wraps up a story with a satisfactory bow. She believes that storytelling is essential to how we view the world.

Sandwiched between these stories are musings—brief excerpts or essays of a particular thought. Her musings are often personal, and many convey aspects of her life as a writer: "Writers are sometimes reluctant to weed out the words that may prevent their work from fully blooming.

Carousel takes you round and round, where you can get on and off anytime within its pages, perhaps coming back full circle when a particular story speaks to you.
