CHATTERING TREE TOPS

The natural world is infinite. Strip away the frills, anomalies, and custom features, and what do you see? You see dirt, flat or piled up, hills over the grand millennia into Mountains and mountain ranges. You see the still Waters or rolling thunder of Waves, controlled by the Moon. You see life pushing up through the soil as trees, bushes, and Flowers, engineered by soil and water. Finally, you see the most magical of all, day and night, light and dark, love and hate, holy and evil. You ultimately see life and spirit.


Over fifty years, these images show up in my art. I missed one thing that living in the desert did not afford me, it was the birds chattering in the treetops, the noise of wind blowing through the tops of trees and rattling the leaves, and the chattering inhabitants. These feathered winged-ones seek solace and shade up there.
