George Griffith is best known for his highly adventurous science fiction, in the tradition of his contemporaries Jules Verne and especially H. G. Wells, with whom he shared equivalent fame in his lifetime. This new and original collection of Griffith’s short fiction contains fourteen stories as they originally appeared, including his ‘Stories of Other Worlds’ series illustrated by Stanley Wood, and his audacious, proto-steampunk adventure ‘From Pole to Pole’.
