‘Click’ - “Sshh Keep Quiet‪”‬

I’m in my mid fifties now and it has taken me this long to write down memories of what happened to me in my life, mostly as a child. I feel now that I am strong enough to revisit my past life and share this horrific true account. It has taken courage to face my past, having to re-live every moment to be able to write this account. I’ve turned my life from being a victim into a survivor, writing this paper has helped me come to terms with this and now the bad dreams have gone. I had two years of my young life snatched away and my innocents discarded as though it had no value. Memories of my past can pop up at anytime though, like the smell of toothpaste or soap in the supermarket isle can take me right back to my early years in the children’s home, although there are things that remind me of my past, I am glad to say that I am now able to deal with them and move on. I’m also so happy that its all over.
