Cracking the Curriculum Code for the Arts

From Semester 1 2018, Western Australian Primary teachers are implementing – planning, teaching and assessing – the Western Australian P-10 Arts Syllabus. To do that teachers and principals need to understand What to teach about the Arts; How to teach the Arts; and, Why teaching the Arts is important learning for every student.

This short e-publication is based on a presentation made by Robin Pascoe, Murdoch University, to help teachers get ready for the Arts. It was part of the Mondays@Murdoch series in October 2017, an outreach activity of the School of Education, Murdoch University.

 

Robin Pascoe is Senior Lecturer in Arts and Drama Education at Murdoch University where he works with both secondary drama teachers and primary generalist teachers who will teach the Arts in their classrooms.
