Daily Scale Builder

McGregor’s “Daily Scale Builder for Trumpet and Cornet” is a wide-ranging and progressive collection of scales and exercises on scales. Major, Minor (Natural, Dorian, Harmonic and Melodic forms), Chromatic, Whole Tone, Diminished and Augmented, Modes and Pentatonic scales are extensively and innovatively presented. The use of alternative key signatures vastly increases the available permutations of many of the exercises casting them into different modes. A special addition to this volume is the recordings of many examples by James Wilt, trumpet, Los Angeles Philharmonic, giving excellent aural models to follow.
