Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe (Jun 14, 1811 – Jul 1, 1896) was an American author and a member of abolitionists movement. She is mostly known for her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852), devoted to harshness of life of slaves. This novel has a massive social resonance across US and Britain, provoked slavers’ wrath in the south and fueled anti-slavery-movements in the north.

Deacon Pitkin's Farm is a short story by Harriet Beecher Stowe. The story is set the village of Mapleton, preparing for thanksgiving. Magic was in the air, holidays were in sight and everyone was neck deep in festive hustle. A perfect set for a wonderful Christmas adventure was Mapleton, and one has occurred with Miss Diana this year. Read this wonderful piece and let the Christmas spirit fill your day!
