Disconnected

What I had spent years preparing for was really happening. A global power outage was imminent. A Coronal Mass Ejection would hit the US in just over twenty-four hours, and I was determined to be ready. 

As my kids raced home, my husband Sam readied the house while I gathered supplies. Our town wasn't ready for what the next twelve to eighteen months or more would bring, but I was determined that my family would be.

As time counts down, the world as we've known it will fall silent. I just hoped we were ready for everything that the silence would bring.
