Amalia Therald, driven out of her kingdom by the Archprelate of Junandar and labeled as an aberration and a threat to the realm, has taken refuge in the Outer Kingdoms. With her captain and consort Destrick and her half-sister Glorianna, she resolves to find a way to defend her people from the real threat - an encroaching evil whose designs stretch much farther than Aetheria's borders. Can the three of them uncover the true danger hiding behind the Archprelate's machinations...and what will it cost them in the end?
