Imagine, if you will, a life where you have spent your entire childhood, ridiculed and criticized by friends and family. Your father is ashamed of you for not possessing an ounce of athletic fortitude, your mother, ignoring the fact that you were not born a girl, conjuring up several ideal circumstances to dress you in pretty things anyway.
