We all love heroes, the guys that no matter what, you can count on to win: heroes win victories and prevail under tremendous adversity, opposition and oppression. Rocky, a down on his luck Philadelphia Boxer, got to achieve greatness, love and the American dream and this produces the sense that all of this can happen to you too. Heroes embody the same characteristics, which are learned responses, meaning that most anyone can achieve the American dream. 


Everyman encapsulates the essence of the sixology and highlights the characteristics of heroism included within the films. The movies prose served well in inspiring individuals to achieve greatness, and our novel represents the next steps individuals can take by shadowing the many life lessons and existential implications hidden in the films. Every person can learn from the life of Rocky Balboa, his triumphs and his failures, to be better persons themselves in the search for self-actualization.
