When Jim and his crew of the Resolve jump into a micro meteor, they damage the port engine. Stranded and unable to get back to Earth with only one engine, they are caught in their own warp bubble when a US ship, the USS Evolve, follows them. Jim must make a daring deal to save his crew and ultimately embarks on a journey of survival and rescue through space. With no welcome from either the Fagarans or Earth, Jim leads his crew on a mission to Alpha Centauri, where they must outsmart their enemies and free slaves from their space station. Will Jim succeed and return safely back to the Resolve with Brua at his side?
