Hank Dalton couldn't resist a damsel in distress–and beautiful city-slicker-turned-rancher Stephanie Chisholm certainly fit the bill. Caroline Burnes is the author of over 35 Intrigues, many of them featuring Familiar the Black Cat Detective. A native of Mississippi, she also writes mysteries and crime novels under the name Carolyn Haines. An avid reader, Burnes grew up in a small town where novels gave her the adventures she craved. She is an animal advocate and also teaches creative writing at the University of South Alabama.
