FLOATING HOUSE

“City and Sea.
City and Sea.
City and Mediterranean.
City and Tirreno.
Naples and Gulf.
Solid black lava docks form the edge of Naples towards the sea. And we want, with this workshop, to investigate this singular mutation between the foundations that weigh like the stones of the volcanic fire and the difficulty in seeing its support on the seabed, between the liquid state and the solid state between the ship and the city.
The theme is therefore a work on the houseboat but not only on this understanding as a hybrid between boat and domestic space rather on the metaphor of the ship as a city, the ship anchored to the quay that changes with its small or large mass the arch of the bay of Naples. Something very different from the salty and lacustrine dimension of the Adriatic, the mouth of the Po, the canals and the streets of Venice. Something possibly metallic or woody, something that tastes like an industry like a flooded cathedral and a house like a balcony on history.
The projects you see here want to talk about this, they want to show the intensity of a battle between solid and liquid states[…]”
