Gene Stratton-Porter was an American author, amateur naturalist, wildlife photographer. She was one of the earliest women to form a movie studio and production company. Some works of the author were translated into different languages, and they were estimated to have had 50 million readers around the world. She was the supporter of the conservation of wild nature. 

Despite the fact that the story is old, it's still full of different adventures. That book really formed a lot of my opinions and feelings about nature and wildlife. The main hero was the one-handed orphan boy, who escaped the bad home, where we was oppressed by owners. What adventures did he face? Did he find his luck? Read the story to know!
