While traveling, Hedin visited Constantinople (Istanbul), oil-rich Azerbaijan (in the times of the Nobel Brothers), Teheran, Mesopotamia (Iraq), lands of the Kyrgyz people, India, China, Asiatic Russia, and Japan.
